What is new in the last 48 hours?

• March 2020 was the first March without a school shooting in the US since 2002. All it took was a pandemic.

• Trump halts U.S. contributions to World Health Organization. Um.

• 37 immigrant children held at a site managed by the Heartland Alliance have tested positive for COVID-19.

What is the same?

• There’s a very specific, highly scientific chemical reaction that makes the combination of dark chocolate, sea salt, and caramel completely irresistible.

• Stickers are effective motivational tools.

What is the hope?

• Jigsaw puzzles are having a heyday. Not sure if this fits neatly in the “hope” category, but I love that so many people are fitting pieces together to construct images.

• Word is that we’re dreaming more vividly right now. While we sleep. Let’s dream more vividly while we are awake, too.

• The beautiful spirit of Attempt that shines through in a virtual singalong. In a rehearsal. During a round of “Happy Birthday.”
